The Leadership Excellence Awards were designed and created by leadership expert - Andy Nisevic - an ex-RAF serviceman with over 20+ years of leading teams, turned trainer and coach. Andy wanted to create a way in which great leaders could get special recognition for their efforts. Having both presented, judged and won awards in different sectors, Andy and his team at One Degree felt it was right to apply their experience and knowledge to create a set of specially curated awards for leaders at all levels of the management chain.
The awards are open to all manner of people right across the organisation structure from senior management and CEOs to supervisors and middle-management. They’re not sector specific so could be entered by those in retail, manufacturing or even in professional services businesses.
The awards criteria detail who can enter but in short and depending on the category you can either self-nominate or nominate someone else. Simply read the ‘How to enter’ information, draft your submission and enter using the form on this website.
We have a number of categories and awards up for grabs including:
- Emerging Leader of the Year
- Middle Manager of the year
- Director / Senior Manager of the Year; and
- CEO / MD of the Year

All categories are independently judged by a panel of carefully selected leaders. We have people who run FTSE 200 companies to one star commanders’ in the military. Each category will be judged by a number of judges with specialisms in the given category. They will score the submission against key criteria (listed on the ‘how to enter’ page) and an average will be taken from all submission scores. Multiple judges will score each submission and that will help to form the shortlist.
Unlike other awards, we don’t plan on having a ‘grand ceremony’ to recognise our leaders. Instead winners will be contacted by telephone to inform them of the results and they’ll receive an award shortly after with clear confirmation of why the judges considered them worthy winners.
Because we’re not hosting a ceremony and because there are no costs to enter, the entire process requires no financial commitment or investment. There are no hidden costs or charges. We don’t want to put barriers in the way of great leaders getting the recognition they deserve. We will of course take feedback on how we might improve year on year.

We’re inviting category sponsors who are passionate about leadership, progression and personnel development (as well as personal development). These sponsors will have the opportunity to support the event with low cost sponsorship packages starting from as little as £50. The team at The Leadership Excellence Awards will then promote your brands in marketing materials, email campaigns and when liaising with stakeholders.

Unlike some ‘mickey-mouse’ awards, we want to ensure that entrants get the most value. We’re not placing restrictions in the way, we’re encouraging everyone in a leadership role to get involved and we want a fair, and impartial process for leaders to get recognition through. As leaders we’re always learning and the feedback by judges (who are all seasoned leaders) will help with additional development and leadership learning.
